Found!

At an estate sale on Friday I found this beautiful brass Hendryx bird cage with the original milk glass feeders.  I nearly jumped for joy at getting my hands on this item!
After I cleaned the free dust off of it and fake flowers out of it, it turned into a real gem.  It's even dated 1920.  It's big, too!  Stands 18" high!

Also found this dusty old Kodak camera and that beautiful pink glass light fixture cover.  Someone who is restoring an old house would love that light cover!  It's gorgeous and in perfect condition!

Lastly, is this sign which I found at FOUND by Domestic Bliss today!  I say this a lot and when I saw the pic of it in an email they sent out recently, I knew it was for me!  So today I trekked to Mesa to buy it!  (((smiles)))
This is my mantra!!  Love it!

Little Red Dress and FOUND

I bought this little vintage red dress from my BFF friend, Gail.  I love it!  It is hand made and the embroidery on the sleeves and ruffles is hand done.  I made the little pin you see on the dress.
Here is the little pin.  Apologies for the blurred pic.  I had my small camera with me and couldn't get a good shot of it.
But you can see the little old quilt heart is handstitched on and that there are three tiny french knots in the bottom right corner.  I had fun making this little "Adore" pin and putting it on the dress with safety pins -- it is not permanently attached to the dress.  It is for sale in Merchant Square.

FOUND is a new venture for Dan and Kristen of Domestic Bliss in downtown Mesa.  Be sure to check out the links I provided for both.  My BFF Kim and I went to their grand opening on Thursday evening.  Here are a few highlights of what awaited us.
Love this display!
Old clocks, pretty flowers, and "Found" on a vintage flash card.
Absolutely love this huge picture of the lady in white!!  Comfy tufted chairs and the old folding doors with mirrors where glass used to be.  And check out that great chest full of drawers!  Yummy!!
This picture and display is for you, Gail!!  Check out the old cameras!  And those neat flower frogs!  My mother had several of those because she loved camilias and these frogs held them best in a bouquet.  Also love the "You Are My Sunshine" sign!!
Friends at FOUND -- Kim, me and Trisha.   I so want to get rid of some of my furniture and replace it with what I saw in FOUND.  But the budget doesn't allow it!

The weekend finds . . .

I can tell that spring is approaching here in the Sonoran Desert.  The temps have been in the mid-70's, it has rained more than usual (thanks El Nino!), and now my lavender is in bloom.  The bees are also busy getting pollen from the blooms.  I need to pick some of this and dry it!
Last week I met some friends in Mesa for coffee and conversation.  Afterwards we wandered down to Domestic Bliss to see what goodies they had on sale.  Domestic Bliss is rearranging their store and getting rid of some old items at great prices.  Check out their blog here for the latest news and items.  Here is one of my purchases:
Speckled eggs!  And these are real eggs.  The insides have been removed -- remember how you used to blow out eggs for Easter dyeing??  I do!  I think they may be quail eggs, but am not sure.
I found this tiny wood cage several weeks ago and decided to add a small nest, some of the speckled eggs and tiny roses trim.  Cute spring display!
Here's a peak inside to see the eggs I tucked in there.  This little display piece will be on sale in Merchant Square in a day or two.
