Cootie
Every piece was there. One leg is broken at the end, but other than that, it is in great condition. Even the box! Can't wait for my next trip to play with my grandkids! Is it still being manufactured today? Don't know for sure. But since my daughter-in-law had never heard of it, I suspect it may not be. Do you?
Since my DDH can no longer buy me flowers, I treat myself to pink roses every now and then. Aren't these pretty! And they opened so beautifully! They are even slightly fragrant.
As I was tidying up yesterday I wondered what on earth am I going to do with the beautiful pumpkins and gourds I bought for fall decoration and Thanksgiving. I hate to throw them away. So here is what I did with them for the time being.
Love those ghost pumpkins!!
The house cleaners come tomorrow. After that I will decorate a bit for Christmas. It is a comin'!!
Now, I want to tell you about a new blog. Kim Johnson, of Mystic Paper, and her hubby, The Peddler, now reside in Yucca Valley, CA. They have started a new blog called The Peddler's Corner, and I want you to go visit and see what they are now doing. Interested in brothel tokens for your art work? They have a few for sale. Check it out! Kim told me today that Rick, who finds fabulous things for mixed media artists, will be hunting regularly for goodies for this blog. They are going to Quartzite this week to hunt for wonderful things to share.

Goodies from yard sales
Here's some of what I found:
This mirrored dresser tray was a jewel in all the dust of an estate sale this weekend. The pink roses are in perfect shape and so is the mirror. I just had to get a rubber cover for one of the feet on the bottom. I love the charm bracelets, soft green beads and old pin cushion. That pin cushion is filled with emery so that when you stick the pins or needles in, the emery sand/dust sharpens the tips.
I love this silver pitcher. It has a small boo-boo on the bottom, but that just gives it character and makes it even more shabby chic.
Found a lot of buttons, too. A large bag of white and off white buttons as well as some red and pink. Lots of mother of pearl buttons in this lot. The bag of dark buttons are actually red, white and blue -- must have turned the bag over.

Pretty March Give-Away

There are two lovely vintage hankies, one is white with white embroidery and the other is white with pink flower embroidery. Both are clean and in excellent condition -- as in never used. There are three pretty pink roses and a nice strand of small pearls to embellish your art work. Also included is the lovely cutout of a little girl in a bridal veil. She is holding a tiny gold mirror. There are also a couple of hearts on a tiny corsage of roses with two tiny rings and a few pearls. The paper doily is not included -- it is for photography purposes. All discovered in my stash as I was looking for things to use in a project.
If you would like a chance to win this March Give-Away all you have to do is leave a comment on this March 23rd blog only. You have until Sunday, March 29, to leave a comment. I will then have someone draw the names of the people who left comments and announce the winner. I mail promptly upon receiving your address so you can have the give-away right away!
