Boho Nouveau at Sweet Salvage in April!

Here are a few of my favorite pics taken when my BFF Gail and I went to Sweet Salvage last Thursday, April 18.  So many wonderful displays of great finds.  Gail and I also visited Melrose Vintage to check out their flea market.  Ready?  Here we go:
Right inside the door was this gorgeous and colorful chandelier!
Simple and very pretty!  Love the rose print.
This was such a colorful display that I couldn't resist taking a picture.  That throw is actually a more vibrant pink than in this picture!
Simple display.  I really would like to know where these pedestals can be found.  I would love one or two!
This cheery display was tucked into a corner at Sweet Salvage.  And I think it is so charming and very colorful!
Roses, vintage doilies, old purses, old silver, oh dear!  I love it all!
Love the idea of wrapping a dress form in an old tablecloth, and then dolling it up!
I wish I could have seen this lamp lit up!  I'll bet it makes a room glow with color!
Gail and I loved these chairs and the black cabinet.  Colorful and funky!!

Gail and I also managed to walk through the flea market behind Melrose Vintage on Thursday morning.  I found a few treasures in there!

These beautiful roses were in the rose beds in front of Melrose Vintage.  I think they are just beautiful!  Wish I had the green thumb to raise roses.  Tried to do that once, years ago.  Had no luck.  The bugs and disease beat me!

New furniture finds

I have been looking for some time for a replacement of the cupboard in my booth.  I found one over a week ago in Not Too Shabby in North Phoenix.  So the cupboard is for sale and this piece is waiting to take it's place in my booth.  Here it is:
I am going to line the shelves with pieces of old lace tablecloths.  The inside is the same green you see in the fretwork.  I see myself in that glass!  Yikes!!
I found this wonderful oak farm kitchen table at My Sister's Attic.  Am pretty sure it use to have a drawer, but that is long gone.  I love the color and the rustic appeal it has.

Someone at some time did some ironing on this table and left the hot iron in place a little too long.  Adds character and a story!
And in 1956 Bernie carved his name, year and Fountain Cal. on the top of this table.  At least I now know that the table is over 50 years old!  Thanks, Bernie, whoever you are/were!!  LOL!!!  I haven't decided whether or not I will keep this table.  It is 4 feet long by about 2 1/4 feet wide.  Nice size, but I am looking for something a bit longer for my dining area.  Perhaps this will go in the kitchen eating area -- once I clean out everything!!  You have no idea!!

Destination Found at Sweet Salvage in May

Once again the Sweet Gang did a wonderful job in their new digs on 7th.  Here are some of my favorite pics from Sweet Salvage yesterday.
Sweet Kim and her hubby Sweet Man Jim!!  Awesome day you put together for everyone yesterday!  Thanks so much for all you do!  It was another great day.
New sign on 7th Avenue and new awnings on the front of the building.
My favorite display!  Love the colors and French flavor!  So pretty.
How clever is this arrangement??
Loved this light blue chair and the Paris book on the seat!

I love this necklace.  Just wish I had bought it!!
This burlap skirt on the sink in the bathroom is just too stinkin' cute!  If I had a pedestal sink, it would be wearing a skirt!
A wire wastebasket as a lampshade over an industrial light.  Who thought that up??

More pictures on Saturday.  Took nearly 60 pics.  Check out the album I posted on Facebook here.

Lucketts, Virginia

This antique faire was going on across the street from the Lucketts General Store. Mouth-watering goodies to be had here! I didn't eat any of it, but that crabcake sandwich sure sounded good! Funnel cakes!!! I miss those! Used to have them at every antique show I went to when I lived in Virginia.
This is the community center in the tiny town of Lucketts, just north of Leesburg, VA, about 7 miles. It is well maintained. That's what I like about Northern Virginia.
What I couldn't get over was all the old furniture, antique as well as shabby chic! Wished I had a truck and unlimited funds to shop this faire! We can't find that kind of furniture here in Arizona. I was green with envy!!!
Another pic of one of the aisles at the faire. Again, note all the furniture. There were few "smalls" available. Most of those were used as decoration.
