Check out these two vintage dresses

My BFF Joy and I went to Hollywood Regency about 10 days ago.  I managed to get several vintage dresses on sale.  Here they are:
This pretty formal is so retro!  It is the color of cafe au lait leaning towards pink.  I love this dress!  It is in fantastic condition -- no tears, no spots, no problems.  The zipper is metal which indicates that it was made in the 1950's or '60's.
Here it is in full length.  Great full net skirt on this beautiful dress.  One-of-a-kind prom dress, don't you think?
Ready to salsa!  This pink confection would be perfect for a night in the club salsa dancing.  Lots of ruffles and the gentle folds of fabric across the hips!  Way cool.  And that old mink capelet from Alaska Furrier would be the perfect topper for this dress.

I have posted the entire album of pictures I took at Merchant Square today on my Judy B's Shabby Chic Facebook page here.  Check it all out along with the descriptions if you view the album.

Display idea

I tried the bit of mink in yesterday's blog as a display piece. Worked out OK.From left to right: lovely rhinestone earrings, pretty bow pin with purple and pink stones, rhinestone necklace and two old buttons covered in sparkly stones. I also acquired the lace runner in the photo over the weekend.

Flea market finds on Saturday

Last Saturday was the flea market at Merchant Square. They are having a big 4 day sale there. I have been there everyday since Wednesday, and I am tired! But I wanted to share a few bits I got at the flea market. I love the old roses wrapped in mink! And they are vintage corsages -- all of these items are vintage. The bit of mink on the left would make great bracelets -- which I see a lot of these days on blogs. Don't know what to put on them, but maybe I'll have a brainstorm in a few days. They would also make great display pieces for vintage jewelry. Hmm! Perhaps I will try that!

At the top right are a pair of vintage earrings. The tag said they were Swarovski crystal. They are glitzy! There is a pretty pin at the bottom left. It is missing a pin back, but that is an easy fix. Much to do to keep the booth at Merchant Square stocked with pretty things.
