Southwest colors

This is the pile of bags and boxes I brought home from Payson.  You can also see three vintage dresses over the chair.
The dresses need pressing to get rid of the wrinkles.  The blue dress you see would be a great Halloween costume for someone who would like to be Alice in Wonderland.  Pictures of the dresses after I get them steamed and pressed.
Found these pictures -- one is a print and the other is painted on canvas.  These cowgirl boots in yellow with those knock-your-socks-off red flowers are really bright and colorful.  Gotta love those!
I also collect Mary Francis purses.  I fell immediately in love with this one!  Got the ruffles and the southwest beads and colors!

Etsy Cottage Style Vintage Alphabet

I am a member of the Etsy Cottage Style blog and read it whenever I get an email.  Every month they do something as a get-together.  I haven't participated since joining, but thought I would this week.  The camera was here on my desk and I know I have a lot of vintage things that begin with "B".  However, after a few minutes I was hard pressed to find more!

The theme is Vintage Alphabet and the letter this month is "B".  We are to post pics of our own vintage items that begin with a "B" and then put our link on their page.  So, here are my Vintage Alphabet "B" pics . . .
The wood box belonged to my dad.  I remember it sitting on his dresser and it held all kinds of trinkets.  It was such fun to go through the box and look at all the things he had put in there -- old foreign money, WWII pins, pens, pencils, etc.
These old boots are on display in my great room.  I have a big media wall with lots of shelves for my western collection.
Old brown boots.
Old beads in brown and blue.

Take a look at Etsy Cottage Style and see what they are doing!  You just might like to join in!

Just a few things to share

I love pink roses! These days I have to buy them myself, but who cares? This bouquet was beautiful and fresh out of the shipping box at the store.
Two shades of pink. The four missing roses are in a vase in my bathroom.
Time for some changes in my booth again. Here I have gone to cowgirl chic?! Anyway, a huge square dance petticoat in purple, a brown ruffled skirt, a leather scarf with a wolf handpainted on it (I painted it many years ago), and a pink felt cowgirl hat. Now that's chic! And don't forget the boots! Plus two large suitcases perfect for storage! And they aren't expensive!
More sophisticated cowgirl chic in black! Love that skirt, lace shawl and blouse. There is a very pretty pearl choker necklace with a cameo at the neck. This dress form is for sale! So if you are looking for one, here it is!
Check out my booth at Merchant Square and see all the treasures that await you!

Fluffing my antique booth

Isn't this lamp beautiful??!! I bought it months ago at an estate sale. Last day and it was a steal. I took it into my booth yesterday at Merchant Square and hung it up. Was really pleased with how pretty it is when lighted. So pretty that I may decide to keep it if it doesn't sell. This is closer up. Look at all the crystals -- glass, not plastic! The crystals alone are worth a pretty penny! It is really a lamp. It would have to hang from a ceiling hook and then drape the chain/cord to the wall or corner and plug it in there. However, you could always cover the chain/cord with a fabric sleeve and hide it. Also, I know it could be wired to be a hanging chandelier.
I also set up a pretty vanity display in the center of the booth. The two lacey dresses are so pretty! With the handkerchief hemlines they are so feminine. The one on the left is by Gunne Sax for Jessica McClintock. For some reason I can always find those!
I go for months on end and never find cowgirl boots -- pink cowgirl boots! Then I found three pair with a week of each other!
If you know of a little cowgirl who would like pink boots, here they are!

All done with fluffing for this week! Yeehaw!

It's 2009!

Well, today is going to be spent quietly at home. My son goes to work in about a half hour and will be gone all day. Here are pics of the items I picked up thrift store shopping last Tuesday. It turned out to be a pretty good shopping spree -- spent less than $30, got scrapping goodies as well as things for my booth at Merchant Square. These colorful rolls of crepe paper were found in bags along the walls. I search those first and have found some wonderful items in those bags! Of course, you do get other "stuff" in those bags that you probably won't want. But, hey! Return them to the thrift store (I shop Goodwill), get a receipt and a 20% off coupon on your next shopping trip. Works for me!
These tiny little ornaments were in a bag. Some were broken, but a drop or two of glue fixed that and they are ready to go! They are tiny. Probably no more than an inch long for the small ones.
Girly stuff!! Love the pillows -- one is white eyelet that needed a bit of mending (already done) and the other has pretty roses embroidered on the front. That pink teddy bear is really soft and in perfect condition! The pink boots are so cool! Too bad that one of the toes is missing the metal piece. And that little girl's pink hat! Ready for spring or Easter??
Those two square cups are so cute -- pink and aqua. Couldn't find saucers, but that's OK. Lots of people buy my "orphan" cups for tea parties and then let guests have the cup as a gift.

LOVE this shell!! It is so pink in the middle! Once I wash it up it will go in my bathroom.

I don't love froggies, but lots of people do! These are too cute. Another find in a bag on the wall. One had it's feet broken off but the pieces were in the bag so I glued them back on.

Now, I discovered a couple of new places to visit and perhaps shop while I was reading blogs. The first is Retro Cafe Art Gallery. This website has great stuff if you are an altered art, mixed media and/or collage artist. There is a wide variety of collage sheets, doll parts, rusty stuff, shrines, stencils, vintage finds, etc. The link above will take you there and I will add one under Links to Explore to the right of my blog.

For those of us who love bling and all things girlie, please take a look at Cupids Charm - Notes from a Charmed Life. Joy left a comment on my blog and so I visited hers. Be sure to check out the shoes she got for Christmas! Way cool! She loves Marie Antoinette and French things. Her gifts revolved around that. I loved reading her blog!

Also discovered was "Follow this Blog" which Blogger has created for us. Check it out on the right. All you have to do is click on it and add your name as a follower of my blog.

Explore a little! Read more blogs! Enjoy!
