This is my nearly finished box. I still have a few more things to do. I want to stamp around the edge of the front of the box, use alcohol ink on the feet, and put a little Spanish moss inside to soften it. It was amazing the "stuff" that was inside each of those burlap bags! With the flash on you can see better what the inside of the box looks like. Students had their choice of either a bird and nest or the skeleton. See yesterday's blog for pictures of Tim's boxes.
We used Pearl Elements (I think) to stain the entire box, inside and out. Then we stamped images on the top and sides of the box. The fun began when everyone started placing elements in their boxes and decorating the back of the box. All was glued down. The feet were applied last and that is a two person job. But everyone finished by 10 o'clock last night! What a fun time!!
A BIG THANKS to Tim and his wonderfu staff -- especially Mario, whom we worked hard!! Tim is a fantastic teacher and very helpful to everyone who takes one of his classes. Loads of fun! Great ideas!! And best of all, a chance to be creative!!!
Another BIG THANKS to Mystic Paper for hosting this workshop with Tim!! The gals of Mystic Paper -- Kim and Jennifer -- worked hard to get this organized!! And it went without a hitch!!
Last of all I want to thank Mike Putman for putting up with my constantly asking him to let me by his chair to go do something (ink, get bird seed, get more glue, look for other stamps)!! Mike, you are a gentleman!! Thanks!!
