Fourth of July Weekend

And what are you up to this weekend?  I hope you have plans to celebrate and enjoy this weekend.  Here in Phoenix, we do have a parade to celebrate the Fourth.  But it is incredibly hot here and not too many people have outdoor plans here this weekend.  Many escape to our beautiful Rim Country or head to the beaches of Southern California.
This is the time of year to celebrate America.  Be proud of our country and what it stands for.  Being patriotic is something to aspire to everyday and to teach our children.  Too many today have forgotten this and are attempting to alter our country into something that doesn't look like our America most of us grew up in.
I may be more patriotic than most these days, but I do love this country!  Being married to a career Air Force officer for 36 plus years added to my patriotism and love of this country and all it offers to those who live here.  I hope you all enjoy your Fourth of July weekend and I hope you will remember what it stands for and what a great country you live in.  That's why so many want to come here -- legally and illegally.  It represents hope, future, and a great way of life to people all over the world.

Looking out of my front door, here is my Uncle Sam.  My hubby cut him out of wood for me and I painted him years ago!  In the background you can see the flag.  The Lyons Club here in Sun Lakes puts these up in your yard each holiday for a small fee.  It is so nice to see so many flags in our neighborhood during these holidays!

As for me, I plan to have one of Pittsburgh Willie's hot dogs on Monday at Merchant Square!

Happy 4th ! My Sweetie is retired Navy. Many of my family served our country as well. Those who haven't can not know the sacrifices made by the men, women and their families. Thanks to your husband and to you for doing your part!

Cheers,
