Ola! Hoy es Cinco de Mayo!

Thought I would share a couple of things with you on Cinco de Mayo. A postcard from Olvera St. in Los Angeles and a picture of a couple taken there while visiting.I remember a fourth grade field trip down to Olvera Street. We studied the founding of the missions by Fr. Junipero Serra and we painted a mural for the classroom depicting the mission days, agriculture and early California history. Olvera St. has been preserved and is still a busy market street and center for tourism. The oldest home in Los Angeles is there.I found this picture of a couple who visited Olvera St. and had their picture taken in this "Olvera St. Taxi" probably during the 1940's. Thought it was pretty neat!

If you are celebrating Cinco de Mayo, buenos dias!
