Fairies

Here's a peek at my most recent project. It is not finished, but I think you can see where this is going! The bird cage I found at Merchant Square last weekend. I immediately had an idea for this cage. The fairies are from my collection of purchased photos from the internet. They are decorated with Stickles and rhinestone stars. It is too bad that the Stickles and stars don't show up well. Can't scan them in just yet. They are still drying!

I'm not done. Hope to have it finished by Friday evening so I can bring it to Mystic Paper on Saturday.

BTW!!!! Have you signed up for Tim Holtz's classes at Mystic Paper yet?? There are a few spaces left. I'll be there, will you?? What an opportunity -- to take classes from Tim! Check out his blog here to see the projects he'll be teaching on Saturday.

I was reading Chia's blog the other day. She posted 7 things she thought people didn't know about her. Gave me an idea.

Here's one thing you may not know about me. Did you notice the piano music on my blog?? Wonder why I picked it other than it is soothing?? Well, as a child I took piano lessons for 7 years from my Grandmother Ryan who lived a block away from our house. I suppose I could still plunk out a tune on the piano, but it would take lots of practice. Practice -- hmm! I remember a lot of playing the scales on the keys to warm up before I ever got to play any pieces from the music book. Also had to rub the ivory keys with alcohol to clean them. The piano was a Steinway and it was an ebony black grand. Beautiful! My grandmother taught music lessons most of her adult life.
