Here is my ATC for the November swap at Mystic Paper. It was artist's choice this time. I called this one "Grandmother's Locket."
The background technique used turned out beautiful. The paper was sprayed with Glimmermist in two colors -- rose tea and gold. Then I used a background stamp with tattered rose ink. Next I sewed the picture and a piece of fine netting to the card with gold thread -- there was a learning curve with that thread! Finally the bits from my stash were glued on.
I have no idea who the lady is in the picture. But the Gibson girl hairdo is fabulous! The picture is from a set of cabinet cards featuring six people -- all family members. They resembled each other and the photographer was the same. However, she was the best looking of the lot!
BTW, I am doing a workshop today at Mystic Paper on the use of Glimmermist. This product is really beautiful on artwork. It is too bad the scanner doesn't pick up the glimmer! If you are interested, stop by! Workshops at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
