This week was tough

Sorry I haven't blogged in about a week. Things just piled up here ending in a minor melt down for me.

I was especially upset after talking with a high school friend whose husband was diagnosed with a glioblastoma multiforma (Stage 4) last April. The same type of brain cancer that claimed my sister. My friend, Sandy, told me that her husband has had surgery to remove the tumor, radiation treatments and is now taking the same oral chemo drug my sister took. She has my prayers and my ear if she needs to talk to someone who has "been there, done that" and knows what she is faced with.

This news sent me into a melt down. The first one I have had in quite a while. I couldn't sleep, I cried for my sister, Sandy and her husband. Then along came Wednesday which would have been my sister's 57th birthday. More tears, a phone call from my brother-in-law and my nephew.
I also wrote on Carol Wingert's blog about my last great vacation which was in August 2005 with my sister and her family. My sister died in November 2005. I cannot tell you how very, very glad I am that I went on that special trip to Jackson Hole and Yellowstone. We had a blast. It was the last time my sister felt halfway good.

Here are my two ATC's for this month's swap at Mystic Paper. The theme was Anything to do with England. I chose a bird, the Sedge Warbler, and a thatched cottage. The bird isn't quite finished. I am waiting for an HVAC repairman (no, I am not without AC on this 110 degree day) and after his visit I am heading to Michael's to look for small feathers to go on this ATC.

The repairman has arrived and I need to pay attention to him and get my "noise" fixed.

Sorry it has been a hard week for you, Judy.

We had an AC noise a couple of weeks ago and ended up having to replace the whole system. I'm still waiting for them to come back and fix the hole where the worker fell through the ceiling! I sure hope you got off better.

As always, your cards are lovely.
