I found the 4"x4" square canvases yesterday at an art supply store. Today I prepped them according to the instructions given by Kristen Robinson in the article "Nature's Bounty." So far, so good. I am not finished, but I am happy with the results so far. It just takes time because each layer has to dry before the next layer can be added.
Here I have prepped pieces of canvas paper with acrylic paints. This will be an altered book that has the feel of a cloth book. I am not real happy with the stamping on these sheets, but that can be covered up or altered in some other way. I loved the book by Connie Govea Stuart in Somerset Studio called "Pocket Binder of Art & Earth." I plan to fill my book with pieces of vintage fabric -- I love big cabbage roses -- flowers, plant sticks, and other ephemera I have collected. I will be working all day on these two projects.Predicted high temp today 112 degrees. Just as well stay inside where it is cool!! Whew! That's hot!
