Blog give-away I won long ago!

Earlier this year I signed up to follow and also left a comment on Lesley Venable's new blog.  As it turned out I was one of three of the give-away drawing winners.  This was a long time ago!  Life caught up with Lesley and she didn't have time to mail out my box of goodies until this past week.  It arrived on Saturday last.  And the box was FULL of more than I expected!  My patience was rewarded!

Originally I was to get this lovely wood glove box full of items for art work.  But, as you can see, Lesley generously included many, many more items.

A cigar box full of trims buttons, mica squares and a brass stencil with my initial "J".  The quilt heart is stuffed and ready for decorating.

Vintage books, trims, a postage stamp punch, old album pages, cards, napkins . . . .

I am going to get creating with a lot of these items later in the week!!  Nothing like a goody box full of wonderful items that are new to you to create with!!

I can't just quit with my decorating for fall.  Here's the final layout for my wheat bundle and acorns of the last blog post.

Now it's finished!  The entryway display is now finished.

Bluebirds

I saw this idea on another blog and decided to try it for myself. What do you think??
I have bought several old photo albums over the last year that were in horrible shape -- covers torn off, missing latches, torn pages, etc. This particular page is a pretty pale blue and I thought the birds were perfect to go in there.

Also wanted to let you know that I worked on my booth at Merchant Square today and did a pretty good rearrangement. I have added pictures of the "redo" on my Flickr site. You can get to see them up close if you click on the mosaic of Flickr photos on the right side of the blog.

Art Unraveled Shopping Extravaganza

Art Unraveled (AU) has been going on all week at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Phoenix. Today was their Shopping Extravaganza. I have been to this shopping day for the last three years. This one did not disappoint! Although I didn't think there were as many vendors as in years past. Still, lots of good stuff!!

My first stop was at Vintage Charmings. I believe this was a new vendor and teacher, Kate Murray, at AU. Lovely French things! Their business card says authentic French ephemera and they have a lot of that! I loved the bathing beauties, the French lady postcards and the pretty game pieces. I especially loved the old French books! Very vintage, very old.Next stop -- Hannah Grey Curiosities. Wonderful findings!! I got pieces of vintage wall paper, rusty screen and wire, gears and tiny plastic guns. The guns are for a future Annie Oakley class at Mystic Paper.
S.A.G.E. Crafts from Sedona was just outside of the door to the main vendor room. They had beautiful handmade papers and other things for mixed media art. I found these bags of unusual trims.
I got these beautiful fabric scraps from Materials Matter. They were inside the small vendor room. Loads of fabric, vintage papers, hankies, etc. The vendor's name tag said "Judy B." so from there on we had a great conversation! I love these pieces of barkcloth and the pound bag of vintage printed ephemera!
I could not resist this banner by Tracie Lyn Huskamp! How clever to use old photo album pages as the pieces for the banner! This close up shows you the pictures (taken from an old book) and the glitter letters. This will hang in my kitchen studio area!Saw lots of friends there! Kim and The Peddler, Mike and Leslie (Jack & Cat Curio), Jo Berneche, Becky of Heart in Hand, two students (whose names I cannot remember but I recognized them), Bett who does whacky art work that is great!, Jen Osborne who does great things with old photos printed on transparency and mounted on felt, Shirley from Artsy Fartsy Fairy (love her funky artwork!), Charlotte -- a fellow ATC swapper, Josie Ciccicone, and others!
