January ATC Swap

For this month's ATC swap at Mystic Paper we were to use Glimmermist when making the ATC and make the ATC look glitzy and glamourous. Here is my card.
I used Robin's Egg Blue Glimmermist for the background and then found this lovely image of a lady dressed in blue to add to the card. I did add Stickles in gold and aqua to dress up her dress and jewelry. I think she is pretty glamourous!

Please be sure to check out Mystic Paper's new blog site that lists the themes for the ATC swaps and upcoming trades (remember the Bingo card trade of last November??). They are listed in advance so you have plenty of time to work on cards for a swap. It's easy! Come join us!!

Summer Collage class yesterday

Michelle joined me yesterday for a one-on-one class creating the mixed media summer collage using glazes, Glimmermist, stamps, and lots of other goodies to create her collage. Michelle came to class with lots of her own images of her family and plenty of goodies to make her collage a truly personal one. I am so glad she did that! That is what I try to strive for when I teach a collage class or an altered book. Here is the result of Michelle's efforts --

She was thrilled with her final piece. We had a ball getting acquainted and enjoying the art work. Thanks again, Michelle!

I should mention that I don't usually do a class for just one person. There were two signed up for this class yesterday, but the other student called the shop to let us know that she wouldn't be attending. So Michelle reaped the benefits of a one-on-one class.

Haunted Neighborhood class

Yesterday was the "Haunted Neighborhood" class at Mystic Paper. Two students signed up and we all had a ball making the neighborhoods!Linda and Caryn had a great time and learned a few new techniques. Like Glimmermist and alcohol inks on mica pieces. Here is Linda proudly displaying her finished Haunted Neighborhood piece. This is Caryn. She was really excited to take her piece home. She knew her kids would love it! I am sure they will.

Thank you, ladies, for a really fun class. If any of you are interested, there is one extra kit available at Mystic Paper. It comes with everything but the twigs. Complete instructions are included. Get in touch with Mystic Paper today at 480-834-0286.

Tomorrow's class - Mixed Media Summertime Collage

Saturday, July 12 beginning at 1:00 p.m., I am teaching this class at Mystic Paper. Today I will be spending time putting together the tools and goodies for teaching this class. There are still several spots available in this class, so if you are interested give Mystic Paper a call and sign up! It is cool and comfortable in the classroom at Mystic Paper and we will have a great time! This promises to be a lot of fun and you will learn how to use Glimmermist, see how to apply glazes to give your projects more depth and a little color, and use a few of your own summer collectibles! I encourage students to bring their own bits for the collage. It makes it so much more personal. However, I will supply a lot of things for students to use. I have a great variety!
