Vintage tins just listed

I just listed three sets of vintage tins on Vintage Recycled.  I am cleaning out my stash and thought these tins would be perfect for the mixed media, steampunk, or jewelry artist.  Here is a pic of the watch part tins.

They are tiny and the one on the top actually has two tiny watch parts included in it.  More pictures on Vintage Recycled.  See the other two sets of tins there, too.

I also listed another rhinestone cowgirl journal.  This time it features Annie Oakley.  She's my favorite cowgirl from the Old West.

SOLD!!!!

Met a new dealer at Merchant Square last Saturday when and she came to my booth to look around while I was there fluffing!  Her name is Rhonda and she has a blog called A Little Bit French.  Please visit her blog and have a look around.  You'll love her work.  And you can see a few of the items she bought from my booth on Saturday -- booties, pearl necklace, perfume bottle.  Please scroll on down through her blog and see why Rhonda and I are kindred spirits!  She loves the same things I do and she is a mixed media artist!!  How cool is that?!

Lastly, I had the unfortunate experience of being stung by a bark scorpion on Monday afternoon.  I can honestly tell you that IT HURT!!!  And the numbness in my toes, face and scalp didn't help!  It took a little over 24 hours to recover from that experience, and it was awful.  That scorpion managed to get 4 stings in on my leg before I could get my shorts off to get rid of it.  Never saw it, don't know where it was that it could get on my thigh, but it did.  Little beast.  Ice packs and Benadryl help relieve the symptoms.  

Nasty creatures.  This is what they look like.  I find them in the sticky traps I have set in my garage.  Don't find too many in the house.  But the one that got me on Monday was in the laundry room and a big a surprise. 

I'm on a first name basis with my pest control man -- Logan.  He's coming again tomorrow to spray the inside of the house again.  Hope it gets that little pissant that stung me.

More Rhinestone Cowgirls

I just listed three more Rhinestone Cowgirl journals on my Etsy shop, Vintage Recycled.  Here they are.

On the left is Annie Oakley.  The two blue journals were covered with denim studded with rhinestones and silver studs along a seam that came from an old denim skirt -- BOTH BLUE JOURNALS JUST SOLD (JULY 4TH).  Great thrift store find!   The middle cowgirl is on red and white ticking.  Better pics of both the fronts and the backs are on Vintage Recycled.

Annie Oakley collage class today

Julianne and Kim joined me this morning to create their own Annie Oakley collages. Kris was scheduled to be with us, but didn't make it this morning. Sorry, Kris! We did miss you! Hope you are feeling better by now!Here they are hard at work. Kim can even multi-task while taking a class!

Here is Julianne with her collage. Julieanne told me she hadn't done much cowgirl stuff, and this was a first. She did a good job, didn't she??!!

Annie Oakley on a quilt square

I am having an absolute ball with the techniques I've learned from KC Willis' Collage Camp. This has been such a great experience for me. I am jazzed again about creating! If you haven't taken a look at the camp site, please click here or click on the camp button at the right.

Here is Sureshot Annie Oakley on one of the cutter quilt squares. I love this one!I am out of town now enjoying my grandchildren and getting ready to celebrate little Ryan's third birthday. Am also looking forward to a shopping trip to Lucketts General Store. Will post again after my return on June 3rd.

KC Willis Collage Camp

Thanks, Kim, for putting me on to this collage camp hosted by KC Willis of Lipstick Ranch. I just joined and am looking forward to it beginning soon. Check it out! There is a picture on the right side of my blog that you can click and it will take you to the Collage Camp site.I have one original piece of her work that I picked up in Cave Creek and I love it! Visit her website at Lipstick Ranch and check out her work. If you are a cowgirl fan, you have seen her work everywhere. I love her large wall hangings. So, I hope this camp will teach me the techniques so that I can create my own cowgirl/western collages for my home! I'm a cowgirl at heart! Just like Kim, although she is more so! LOL!!

Which reminds me. I have once again scheduled my Annie Oakley collage class at Mystic Paper. If you couldn't sign up before, here is another chance.I will take this collage into Mystic Paper tomorrow, April 14, so you can see it up close. I have already prepared class kits and am ready to go! Are you?? The class is scheduled for Saturday, June 6th, from 10:30 to 1:30. Won't you join me??

Bingo Card Swap

As promised, here are my two bingo cards for the swap at Mystic Paper. The theme was "When I Grow Up".The first one I did was of this cute little girl. I decided she wanted to be queen someday. I think she looks like she could give queenly orders and not take "No" for an answer! I gave her wings, jewels and a crown to go with her wanting to be queen. But after making 8 of these . . .. . . I decided that I needed to change the image on the last 8. I chose this cute little cowgirl. Her name is Ruby Culbertson. I left the writing on the image. It says that she is the "smallest cowgirl in the world with Indian Pete's Wild West Show." I did a Google search on her and the wild west show but turned up nothing. Must have been a small, unknown wild west show and nothing the size of Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show. I think she wanted to be the next Annie Oakley!

Annie Oakley beeswax collage

Last Saturday I was asked to assist with Mike Putman's beeswax collage class. He asked for help because it was a large class and I am familiar with his techniques so I could help others. The class was a success!!

Here you see Mike demonstrating one of his techniques for Marija, Cece and Debi during the class. If you read Mystic Paper's blog you will find out that Marija came all the way from Bosnia and took this class with Cece not too many hours after getting off the plane. It was fun to get acquainted with Marija and ask her questions about scrapbooking and art classes in her country. Check out Cece's blog for more pictures of the class and final pieces.

I have added a few more things to my final collage and am quite happy with it.

Note the hole in the middle of the 5 of clubs! Annie was a sure shot! Also note the gold star on Annie's hat. That was her lucky star and she wore it all the time.Admission ticket and tag for Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show featuring Annie Oakley!This corner of the collage has an ad for Gunsmiths Approved Shooting Irons. I thought that appropriate for Annie Oakley.

I didn't blog over the weekend because Blogger was somehow reading my blog as spam and wouldn't let me open it. However, the problem was fixed by Sunday. I have no excuse for not blogging before now!! Sorry!!
