April ATC and a brief vacation ahead

This is my ATC for the April swap at Mystic Paper. We were to make a pocket somewhere on the card and put something in the pocket.I used a piece of mica for the pocket and attached it to the card with brads. Then I tucked an admission ticket inside the pocket as a keepsake from going to the circus. I love that you can see through the pocket to the colorful paper.

I am leaving early tomorrow morning for a week visit to my son and his family in Virginia. I am really looking forward to seeing my grandkids and playing with them. Little Kara and I have already decided to do egg hunts when I get there. I will be back next Tuesday, the 21st.

If you haven't checked out the KC Willis Collage Camp I recommend that you do so. It sounds like a lot of fun. My friend Joy has joined as well as Kim from Mystic Paper. We are all anxious to get started. I'll be back next week.

Easter is coming soon!

I joined an Easter ATC swap that my friend, Sandy of Her Vintage Stage, was hosting. The cards are due on April 1st. Here is the ATC I did for that swap. I am anxious to get my cards back to see what others have done. I will share those with you when I get them. I love this little girl and I thought she looked like that little birdie had told her something that no one else had shared with her. The image is from Digital Collage Sheets. They have really nice downloads that are reasonably priced and you get them almost instantly. Check them out!!

March ATC and Marie

Here is my ATC for the March swap at Mystic Paper. The theme was spring and you were to incorporate a fold somewhere on your card.
Here is the view of the card when closed. Here it is opened. Actually, this card will stand by itself and when it is standing, it makes the bird look like it is on a limb over the nest. I liked the effect.
This arrived in my mailbox today. I have not read it yet, but am headed to the couch to correct that! Can't wait to see what it has to offer!! See you later!

An ATC and a pendent

This is my ATC for the February swap at Mystic Paper. We were to use Tim Holtz products in making the ATC. The only things not by Tim are the ribbon at the top and the little boy's image. I call him Little Harold.
Please be sure to check out Mystic Paper's new blog dedicated to swaps and trades alone. There you can get information on all upcoming trades and swaps. In fact, they are having an altered apron art show. You will also find pictures of all the ATC's traded for each month. January's ATC's are already featured on there. If you are interested, check out the blog!
This is my latest pendent. I used an ArtChix image and glitzed her up with stars, glittery paper, and two tiny jewels. You can find her for sale in my booth at Merchant Square in a few days. Check the white china cabinet in my booth for her.

January ATC Swap

For this month's ATC swap at Mystic Paper we were to use Glimmermist when making the ATC and make the ATC look glitzy and glamourous. Here is my card.
I used Robin's Egg Blue Glimmermist for the background and then found this lovely image of a lady dressed in blue to add to the card. I did add Stickles in gold and aqua to dress up her dress and jewelry. I think she is pretty glamourous!

Please be sure to check out Mystic Paper's new blog site that lists the themes for the ATC swaps and upcoming trades (remember the Bingo card trade of last November??). They are listed in advance so you have plenty of time to work on cards for a swap. It's easy! Come join us!!

Stamping with bleach

I love the effect you get when you stamp on black paper with bleach.

They are colored with Vivid! dye inks and the one on the right has been spritzed with Glimmermist in black gold. Not sure I like it as well as the others. These would make great ATC's with just a couple of small embellishments.

Catchin' Up!

Last Friday the December ATC's were due at Mystic Paper. The theme was artist's choice. Here are the ones I received back from the swap. I think my fav is Capt. Jack Sparrow! Just loved Johnny Depp in that role!
I have also made three necklaces from pendant trays I purchased at Mystic Paper. These will make great gifts for someone! They are quick to do -- however, drying time for the Glossy Accents is lengthy! I recommend doing them in the evening and letting them dry overnight. Can't rush this! I love the Annie Oakley one on the right. I may keep her! But the others are going in my locked china cabinet at Merchant Square and will be for sale.

December ATC

This is my ATC for this month at Mystic Paper. The theme was "artist's choice." I decided to do one in a Christmas theme even though I could have picked anything.
I had been stamping on tissue paper in red ink. So I decided to use that paper as the background for this ATC. I love this image so I printed her out and used red Stickles to highlight the holly berries and gold to outline the image. Green and black inks were used to shade the edges.

DON'T FORGET ABOUT THE GIVE AWAY THIS WEEK!!!

BE SURE TO READ AND LEAVE A COMMENT IN THE BLOG JUST BELOW!!
Sunday is fast approaching! Thanks to everyone so far who has left a comment!!

October's ATC

The theme was flowers. You could pretty much do whatever you wanted. Here is my ATC for this month's swap.

I love this flower fairy! Decided to put her on my ATC. Then I cut those flowers off of ribbon that I had bought a long time ago. See! Some of that stuff you buy you can eventually use! Nothing like it!

The ATC's from the Netherlands have arrived

Nadia's ATC's arrived safely in the mail today. And here they are. I promised to share them with you when they arrived. I love these! Each one has a background of fabric. This pretty green one has a free form of fabric with gold threads running through it. Nadia couch stitched the gold thread through it then zigzag stitched the edges. This ATC card has a light background fabric that looks like rusty pieces were laid on it and allowed to rust the fabric. Then she drew lines around the areas and added the two embellishments. The background here is pieces of orange and black fabric that she has woven together. Then she stitched a black diamond in the center, tacked a black circle in the center and tacked down fibers around the diamond.

Thank you, Nadia! I love each one of these! Lots of work went into making each one! My only regret is that the pictures do not do these ATC's justice! They are really tiny works of art! You can visit Nadia's blog, Patch and Stitch, here.

The theme was "By the Sea." Here are just a few of the ATC's in this swap. There were 16 sets of cards to be swapped this month! Wow!!

Also, check for the other swaps that are planned. The Bingo card swap is full right now. But others are planned so keep checking!

July's ATC swap is done!

And here are the cards I got through the swap!

The theme was "red, white and blue" and I think we got a lot of great cards! Actually, 14 people participated in the swap and there were some great cards for trading. Was glad to see a couple of new swappers -- Yasu and Tanya (Road Trip with Ruby). Every month the cards are wonderful that people turn in to trade. If you haven't joined us yet, consider doing it next month!

July's ATC

The July theme for the monthly drop-off swap at Mystic Paper is "red, white and blue." I decided to do the All American Cowgirl! Fabric and paper collage. Love the ticking with the red stitching! This one's for you, Kim!!!
