I've been out and about hunting for treasures again this week. I wanted to share some with you. They may appear in future class pieces and projects.
The first picture shows some barkcloth I picked up plus trims that match. What wonderful big, bright flowers on the cloth pieces. Can't you just see them cut out and used as part of a project piece? Also got lots of lace, trims, tiny spoons, lockets, and old children's "fat books" that are falling apart, but will make good backgrounds!
Three pieces of toile! Great colors and a different pattern on each! But they are destined for a tea dye bath to tone them down. I am also going to try walnut ink on pieces to see what happens.
Now, aren't these just precious? All these patterns for dresses for little girls. They are really vintage (can you see the prices on some? 25 and 35 cents!) and so reminiscent of Shirley Temple! These would make cute backgrounds or cut outs for a book, tags or cards. The apron pattern is one of several I have collected lately. I am thinking of doing a project about aprons. My mother always wore aprons!
